Hi tonymacx86 community,
I am having a bit of a problem setting my laptop up as a Hackintosh. I have heard of others doing it with this laptop with no problem.
However, when I create a bootable USB stick using UniBeast, there is no option to boot from my USB.
I have set it up using with these settings: MBR partition scheme and OS X Extended (Journaled)
Any input would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks

Make sure you have legacy boot enabled in BIOS.

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Thanks MacMan,
I have successfully booted into Mavericks after a pain-free install, have yet to get to get WiFi or Ethernet working. I haven't tried running MultiBeast yet, and have not attempted sleep.
Will get back to you on how it works.

Oops! Sorry RehabMan !
Anyway, I tried using MultiBeast's Easy option, and when I booted, I was stuck at the Apple logo with no spinning wheel.
What kexts I should use?

OK, done this, now I've installed Chimera, how do I boot from it? I have an AMI BIOS and it is asking for a boot option which requires me to enter a boot file. What is this boot file?

Many ASUS machines do not support booting legacy to GPT drives.

Suggest you use Clover instead...

For using Clover, I suggest you read here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-probook-mavericks/112383-guide-install-mavericks-clover-bootloader.html. Filter appropriately as some information is HP ProBook specific (omit HPFanReset.efi, most of the stuff in the ProBook Installer, for example).
