Problems installing Mac AppStore App Updates Big Sur

Well I just restarted and everything shows OK. My initial point was that this behaviour was on a real MacBook Pro so definitely an Apple problem. Actually I think my issues are Apple related, I've never seen updates not (appear to) complete before. I might be muddying the waters though, i've no...

Problems installing Mac AppStore App Updates Big Sur

Well Pages and iMovie show under the recently updated section, but the icon shows as in progress/waiting. Xcode however is stuck in the Upcoming Updates section although it has completely downloaded but the icon shows installing. Been like that for 2 days. Edit, well Xcode now shows as UPDATED...

    How to Fix iMessage

I've had a hackintosh for a couple of years and never got iMessage to work. Just tried tonight and it worked for the first time. I haven't made any changes except for regular MacOS updates and NUC updates from Rehabman. Hey ho lets hope it stays working.

Jang, stick with it, you'll get there in the end. My first hack took forever, but eventually it all clicks (well enough clicks).

Me too. Tried various DP cables/adapter+cable, various lengths and careful routing. Personally I don't really like the mini DP connector, the cable connection doesn't feel secure. I also tried reducing the refresh rate with EDID data, seemed to help for a while but the problem returned...

[Guide] Intel Skylake NUC6 (and Skull Canyon) using Clover UEFI (NUC6i5SYK, NUC6i7KYK, etc)

Update to High Sierra went uneventfully, many thanks again for your great guide. Trying to perform the Supplemental Update and it seems to fail on the download, as far as I can tell the download seems to fail about 2/3rd of the way through and when I next look just shows UPDATE again. Selecting...

My Perixx wireless USB keyboard/mouse (PERIDUO-707) periodically and with increasing frequency stops responding until I pull out/reinsert the nano receiver. Are there any hack issues that might cause this or is it time to buy a new mouse/keyboard combo. I haven't noted any problems when I boot...

No, I don't think you'll get that to work. Its a fairly common problem and related to Hotplug not working I believe.

Is this the NUC LED or display LED? Try pmset -g and see if you have anything preventing sleep for example " sleep 103 (sleep prevented by coreaudiod)" If you do, then try to get rid of them (close any running programs) and retry sleep. There is a DisplaySleep (NUC LED stays...

Although there must be a bit more to it than just data volume. I tried 45Hz and that was the value that was completely unusable. I eventually tried 48Hz as it's a multiple of 24 which tends to be a good value to try when video is involved.

Today I removed the override file/rebooted and the blanking/black flash (for 2/3s) returned within 5 mins. So I am confident that creating an override file with EDID data specifying a native resolution of 3840*2160 @ 48Hz is a solid workaround for me. I have gone nearly 3 weeks now with no...
