Hi @fransali, did you manage to solve the problem? I have a AMD R9 270X and have been noticing extremely long render times in FCP as well.

You used the unlocked multiplier to OC, which is working just fine. Overclocking via the BCC Clock is not working. I switched to a 6600K, and I'm currently running it at 4.4GHz.

Hmm something else seems wrong. I can OC my 6600K to 4.4GHz easily under OS X. Does the BIOS say 4.6GHz? Then its just a matter of you editing the config.plist and updating the CPU related kexts perhaps?

BCLK overclock works just fine in Windows. Whatever the case might be, good decision to go for the 6600K. At least my mistake will help others. :P

Thanks for your reply. I had tried everything, including what you said above, to no avail. Ended up buying a 6600K. OCing it with multiplier, it works fine. Changing the BCLK frequency leads me to run into the same set of issues
