Hello, I have a Probook 4530s on Windows 10 with the Realtek RTL8188CE Wifi Adapter. I know this adapter will not work so I am thinking of getting a USB Wifi adapter (dont want to tinker around with the hardware too much). Will this work, or do I have to look for any standards on the adapter specifications?

Also, I have no access to an actual mac. Is there any way I can proceed with this installation? I'm a huge fan of OS X and I can't get my hands on a Mac any time soon. Anyone who can help guide me in the right direction, that would be very helpful. Thank you all!

Edit: I am eyeing this adapter: bit[dot]ly/2a5Oj3U

USB WiFi not recommended. Install supported PCIe WiFi instead. See guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/g...book-using-clover-uefi-hotpatch-10-11.189416/

Thank you very much for the quick reply. I am here after reading your guide and where I live, the AR5B195 costs about 5x more than usual. I'm not much of a hardware person so I don't want to be messing around with the PCIe slots either and do permanent damage. USB WiFi is not recommended but will it work?
But if I have to get a PCIe adapter, will ebay.to/2a00qAT or ebay.to/2aFb3tg do the job?
Also, can I use a VM to create the bootable USB? (If so, is there a guide I can use anywhere?) I have no chances of getting my hands on a Mac for more than 20 min from my classmates. Thanks!

Edit: Is the Probook 4530s the 4x30s 6 series variant?
Also, is there a reference or guide I can use to completely learn about Clover/UEFI, Dual booting windows 10 and os x, and all the technical terms? I just want to make sure I don't do any permanent damage to the bootloader or bios of the laptop, making it unusable. Sorry for asking so many questions but I'm really interested in the whole thing. Thanks!

You can read about USB WiFi in the FAQ.

It is not recommended for serious reasons.

You can often find a suitable WiFi card on ebay.

You would need a Mac or working hack in order to download OS X to build the VM, so using a VM makes no sense. It also often doesn't work.

If you have no access to Mac or hack, install Snow Leopard first. A Snow Leopard DVD can be purchased from apple.com.

The 4530s is the 4x30s with 15" screen. It has 6-series chipset.

The guide is linked from the ProBook guide (already linked). Also, you can read the FAQ.

Hi! Can I update directly from the AppStore my Probook 4530s with OS X 10.8.2 (Mountain Lion) to 10.11.6 (El Capitan)?

Which steps should I do?

Ahh okay, so mine is the 4x30s, thanks.

I think I will be able to borrow a friend's Mac at school for the process of creating a usb installer. Is it possible to create a VM from the El Capitan file in /applications from a friend's mac?

I'll find a wifi card on ebay for the process I guess. Also is there a specific type of hard drive I need to own? I plan on using your guide and this video
for the installation. I'll partition my 466gb drive into 2 equal parts. This wont cause any issues right? Thank you.

Video guide not necessary (I have no plans to review it either).

Guide already linked in post #6.
