Is it possible to migrate from Chameleon to Clover without starting from scratch? I'm currently on ML, and would like to go to Yosemite or higher. The caveat is my bluetooth. I tried a clean install of Clover but couldn't get my bluetooth dongle to work, which (requires a firmware mod - ath3k-firmware-uploader, and it needs to reside in the Extra folder.

If this isn't possible, what can I expect issues-wise if I upgrade to Yosemite and stay with Chameleon?

Thanks

back up the /Extra folder somewhere just in case.

Is the firmware mod a kext injector? Is there any reason it cannot be placed in Library/Extensions? If the BT is that much trouble I would just replace it with one that worked OOB.

Do you have a DSDT for your board?
First, create a Chimera rescue USB. Install Chimera to a blank USB - 2GB-4GB is plenty large enough. Copy your /Extra folder to the USB and copy MultiBeast for your current OS X version to the USB. Test it to make sure it works and will boot your system.

Then, follow http://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/test-drive-how-to-create-a-clover-usb.127134/ to create a test Clover boot USB
In steps 17-19, if you have a DSDT put it in Clover/ACPI/Patched and do not use NullCPUPM kext.
Add your BT injector kext to the kext files (I would put them all in the "Other" folder and delete the numbered folders)
Delete your /Extra folder (you did back it up, did you not? - hint: it is on the Rescue USB)
With Clover USB in a USB2.0 port, reboot and use F12 to select the USB as your boot device.

If it does not work, you can always boot with your Rescue drive and re-install Chimera with the MultiBeast you just happen to have on the rescue drive and copy your /Extra folder back to root.
