I have checked and checked. I still get the startup error maybe once in 10-15 boots as I said. I tried the unibeast install several times with a diff drive than my Samsung 850 Evo. I honestly dont know what else to do I had thought that had fixed my issue until I saw your reply about data.

Sorry, didn't mean to worry you. Back up your work regularly etc . Should be fine.

It's just boot failure - to me - if it *is* disk related can spell trouble for
work/data later. I've experienced this myself before, though different hardware.

Anything else not working as per @Stork 's guide ?

It might be a parameter in boogleman77's BIOS settings. He has the ASUS EXTREME motherboard in this ROG MAXIMUS VIII series. I can't think of any other thing he can try to fix his problem.

BTW, both the GENE and HERO had BIOS updates this week. Check to see if the EXTREME has a new BIOS version, too. 1901 is new the latest version for the GENE and HERO.

You are correct just checked on asus. I will update when I get home and see. I wonder if our boards will support the new 6 core and so on that was just announced. I didn't have time to see what architecture the new ones are.

Before you update your BIOS, write down your BIOS settings if their different than my settings. For both of my GENE & HERO builds, since they have the same settings, I have them written down. I advise you to do so, too.

After the BIOS has been updated, boot into the BIOS, choose Load Default Settings in the Exit menu. (When the BIOS updates, it wipes out your settings.) Then, reapply your BIOS settings.

EDITED:
Yes I use yours to the t except wifi on. And I have tried to with it off. Having it on is one of my quirks. I'm just thinking what else my board and yours has diff except perhaps the usb-c port. I need to really break down mine and your boards diff. It's hard to spend much time. I have a 8 week old son that's been in and out of hospital and a 7 year old girl who all wants my full attention. Slowly but surely I'll get there. I'm betting it's just one little thing diff between them.

Also I apologize for hijacking your thread. You build is the closest documented on here with my board type. I hope to figure it all out and build my own guide for this board or have you update this one to match it!

Bear with me a little bit guys Im on to something I hope. Allow me a few more hours of testing. Then I will allaborate. Im curious to know why this is "MY" fix.

So my issue is for sure with the OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi I can use it and will not boot and give me the error that I posted the screen shot of. I can use OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi and boot 50-50. If I use the OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi I boot 70% of the time. However if you go into Clover Configurator and load your efi disk then navigate to boot tab you will see a tab for XMPDetection=YES NO 1 2. I just tried YES for a test and pretty much boots every time. I think in 20 something boots I had one or two bad ones. Knowing this, whom would you guys suggest asking why this is or what to do for a fix for others? Again I hope this is all for now. I'm beat........

EDIT: For those that have loaded the new bios for the ASUS Maximus VIII boards have you noticed how sluggish it is?

Drivers > USB > 100 Series Audio
This should be omitted. Setting does not exist.
Good catch. I've removed that line in the MultiBeast configuration for both the HERO and GENE builds. Thank you, porkfoo, for pointing out that copy/paste editing error.

Yes, now that you mention it. If I get time today, I'll check on the ASUS forum to see if the sluggishness is being reported.

Now, that you have your system up and running, go spend time with your family.

Screen Shot 2016-08-01 at 7.13.42 AM.png So I have my hack together and I have aa problem after installing Multi Beast. The video works fine before adding Multi Beast and rebooting.
