What i am observing is bootmgfw.efi isn't created rather the file bootmgfw-orig.efi is replaced with bootmgfw.efi everytime, so i end up with only one file not both.

AFAIK, Windows will not remove bootmgfw-orig.efi.

I got it fixed . I renamed it to the bootmgfw-orig.efi but it is not getting messed up again. Thank you for your help.

Hi everyone,

I have this problem:

when I copy a files folder from Yosemite into the Windows partition using Paragon, Tuxera (or other similar NTFS writing software), restart and get in Windows 8.1, the first time the files folder copied from Yosemite is visible;

but if I delete the folder, restart, get in Yosemite and execute the same operation, when I get again in Windows the folder is not visible anymore, or is empty;

after several tests, I've realized that the file "bootmgfw-orig.efi" causes this problem;
in fact if I rename it "bootmgfw.efi", when I restart everything works flawlessly;

any suggestions to solve this annoying problem would be very appreciated...

Thx!

Is there a solution to the problem with restoring bootmgfw.efi and Windows 8.1? It is really strange, I have had Yosemite and Win 8.1 before, and today, I got my ssd and I decided to do fresh install of both systems; Currently whenever I boot windows, the file bootmgfw-orig.efi is renamed to bootmgfw.efi and after restart I am only able to boot in Windows, clover is overwritten. Before it was happening only when some update is installed, but know every time I boot Win 8.1 I have to change file bootmgfw.efi

:crazy::silent:

It is not being renamed, but Windows updates will re-create bootmgfw.efi.

Correct procedure after an update which creates bootmgfw.efi:
- remove bootmgfw-orig.efi
- rename bootmgfw.efi to bootmgfw-orig.efi.

If you simply remove bootmgfw.efi, bootmgfw-orig.efi will still be old, and Windows will again re-create bootmgfw.efi.

Or you can create a custom boot entry. Read post #1 in the guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-proboo...-install-yosemite-hp-laptops-clover-uefi.html
