Hey all,
Building a Hackintosh in the next month or so, I am thinking about $1500 preferably less but beggars can't be choosers.
My goal is primarily dual boot windows and OSX but have a small SSD drive (128GB) running a linux distro. On the windows side I want to start gaming, and probably do 75% of me work load on there since my laptop will be a windows machine. The OSX will be an as needed and some games I already have for mac, and I just like the OSX system more then windows.
My plan is to just use bootcamp for the windows, but a couple questions.
Can I tri-boot linux, OSX, and windows?
Can each OS boot off of a solid state but then all the core stuff be on an HDD?
**note - Linux will get it's own 128GB sold state**
If a tri-boot is possible can I just use bootcamp to boot into those OS?
I am just going to use tonymacx86 buyers guide for the mac book pro build. A couple years ago, Linus tech tips and MKBHD did build videos and had little problems with over clocking, and snazzy's youtube channel built an awesome overclocked hackintosh mac mini w/ not a single problem.
I am confident on my ability to at least make a windows/mac machine, I don't need linux but I like tinkering so if I could have it that would be great.
Final question, some motherboards have USB-C ports on the boards now, and I would like to have that port. Anyone build one or know a supported mothboard w/ USB type C?
Any input you have at all would be great!
Thanks all
Alex
