Airplay Mirror Black Screen on Output Device

Changing the SMSBIOS (from iMacPro1,1) to iMac19,1 fixed this issue for me. Ventura 13.6.1 - OpenCore 0.9.6

    pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

Answering myself here for the sake of information, maybe it helps someone out there: The culprit for some reason was sys def iMacPro1,1, I changed it to iMac19,1 Now I can send AirPlay screen mirroring to my real MBP and it works.

    macOS 14.1 Update

Mostly all good for me too. Had to grab the full installer since with SIP disabled for the Broadcom patch the app store does not fetch updates, updated the patch after the OS update and WIFI works fine. The only issue I noticed is external SSD's often force-eject during sleep, no ideia why...

macOS Sonoma is Now Available From the Mac App Store

My favorite feature so far is inline predictive text with the supposed 'Machine Learning', I still haven't had enough time for the OS to learn my typing habits but it has already sped up my writing. I never understood how this was always great on smartphones yet so terrible in computers so I...

macOS Sonoma is Now Available From the Mac App Store

All good so far, OC 0.9.5 Followed all the instructions to get my WIFI working ( BCM94360C2 ) here under 'hackintosh notes'. Using OpenCore-Patcher means I'll have to keep my hack's SIP disabled, right?

Thanks. Didn't make any difference to the issue, I'll give it a go at disabling igpu and try some other SMBIOS options.

If using a GPU in slot #2 is there anything I need to change in the EFI's you supply @pastrychef ? I am currently using it without mods other than adding my own SMBIOS. I'm, trying to debug why I can receive AirPlay from my MBA to my Hack but if I send it from the Hack it get a blackscreen on...

Apple Silicon Mac Pro Revealed at WWDC 2023

Interesting, he pretty much has the same opinion that I shared here about the MP VS Studio. For the vast majority of Audio/Video Pros the Studio is more than enough now that there's no upgradability, those are a very small amount of people, now inside that target the ones that really absolutely...

Apple Silicon Mac Pro Revealed at WWDC 2023

Yeah, no doubt. Some devices might also require short cables which would only make cable management an even worst nightmare. The Trash MP had a form-over-function design imho, but then again I'm not the target audience so I am not even sure I have a say in that, I considered buying one at the...

Apple Silicon Mac Pro Revealed at WWDC 2023

Oh, that's a great point, recovering some of the investment by reusing the chassis, all the tolling required, etc... I can't even imagine how much it costs to get that gigantic piece of aluminum CNC milled with such a complicated front panel for example. Well yeah, if iOS devices already...

Apple Silicon Mac Pro Revealed at WWDC 2023

You might be joking but I do feel like this is an accurate statement... Maybe it's just my dirty mind but I kept thinking about this during the presentation lol

Apple Silicon Mac Pro Revealed at WWDC 2023

There are always people asking "is this the end of Hackintosh?", to me it seems more like the end of Mac Pro's. Won't PCIE being the only difference from a Mac Studio shrink the amount of Mac Pro users even further? It doesn't seem to be a justifiable purchase for anyone other than maybe...

    pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

Maybe it's just me but the latest 0.8.9 EFI has UEFI->Input->KeySupport disabled, which means USB Keyboard and mouse doesn't work.

    pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

The mapping is from Pastrychef. I have 2 cables, both work on my MacBook air M1, and thru a hub, I get around 300 mb/s in both. On my hack 1 of the cables gives me 40 mb/s on both the red ports and another gives me 700-900mb/s on the good port and 40mb/s on the bad one. -- No idea what to make...

Dang, I did a clean install and everything. Then maybe it's the enclosure quality or something. Thanks for the reply tho, appreciate you.

    pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

On the Asus Z370-G, is it normal that one of the Red USB Ports in the back is not full speed? @pastrychef was there something done in port mapping that can cause that? Is it expected? Using a NVMe in a external USB-C enclosure (USB 3.1 Gen 2 I think), I get an abysmal difference between the two...

My system sometimes gets very laggy (visually stutters) when playing youtube videos from any browser, any idea what it could be? I'm using 19,1 on Ventura, RX 560. I touch nothing on the config except filling in my PlatformInfo stuff.

How do we bring back the option to reset NVRam at the OC bootpicker? The AllowNvramReset entry is no longer a thing in the latest OC Config, pressing the spacebar at the bootpicker only shows me the Recovery partition as an extra entry. Tried with HideAuxiliary both true and false.

Apple Announces M1 Ultra CPU, Mac Studio and Studio Display

I'm also super confused about the outrage over a non-removable power cable, sure I'd prefer a removable one too but it's really not that serious on a desktop unless idk.. you have a cat who likes to chew on cables? If that's the case that cat probably won't live a very long life. On other news...
