El Capitan stopped booting after FileVault turned 'ON' and restart!

I shelved this idea a while ago and am just coming back to it. How does a hot swappable drive help me? When I get on the corporate VPN I am immediately prompted to enable File Vault on my boot drive. After I click OK, it tried to reboot and all I can do is a full re-install at that point. I...

El Capitan stopped booting after FileVault turned 'ON' and restart!

I have corporate policy being pushed to me that forces File Vault to be enabled. I believe this is via the Casper suite and the ManagedClient.app. Is there any way to make FileVault work with a Hackintosh? Or am I just stuck living off the corporate network, which really defeats the purpose...

Seeking Skylake El Capitan Raid 0 Advice

The setting "Use TRIM commands on all SSDs" is set in the preferences of SoftRAID.

Seeking Skylake El Capitan Raid 0 Advice

So the article above managed to do this. They got close to 6GB/s, which may be the theoretical limit. I am also stuck at this exact 2000.0 MB/s when I set up a RAM Drive, for both read and write. I tried my own tests with the RAM Drive as the source or destination and timed the reads and...

Seeking Skylake El Capitan Raid 0 Advice

Strange results. I am getting lower speeds than before with the same 3 drives in the array. Oddly the read side was capping at exactly 2000.0. The write side was just over 1700. Strange. I set up a RAM Disk and tested that. Both read and write were at exactly 2000.0. I need to get the...

Seeking Skylake El Capitan Raid 0 Advice

So I bought that board and I have 4x 950 pro NVMe drives installed on it. I am really hoping to see some great speeds out of these drives. BUT, I can see them in Disk Utility. Any thoughts? Edit: Forgot this step: https://github.com/RehabMan/patch-nvme

I tried Softraid and that just worked. Not sure what is going wrong with AppleRAID but I got some impressive results.

Seeking Skylake El Capitan Raid 0 Advice

So I finally got my machine built and have been working out the kinks on both the hardware and software side. I am up to the point where I have 3 Samsung 950 pros, 2 on the mother board and one on a PCIe x4 slot. I use the NVMe Kext hack from RehabMan to get that far. They are formatted OS X...

    WiFi: TP-Link Archer T9E AC 1900 / Skylake / El Capitan

Solved. Motherboard was not recognizing the wireless card. Changed from ax x1 slot to an x4 slot and it just worked. I was wondering why I could not find instructions on how to get this to work. It is because it just works. Once I rebooted I just connected to WiFi.

    WiFi: TP-Link Archer T9E AC 1900 / Skylake / El Capitan

I bought this WiFi card because it was on the buyers guide. I did not see anything specific for getting this up and running but I do not see any WiFi in Network Preferences. Are there additional post install steps that I need to take to make WiFi work? There seems to be a lot of stuff related...

High End Skylake El Capitan Build Check

Thanks. I am holding off on my build for a couple of months for other reasons, so I will check back with a new, and hopefully updated build, then.

High End Skylake El Capitan Build Check

This build recently went from an idea to a reality. Any chance someone can give it a once over check?

High End Skylake El Capitan Build Check

I have my system picked out, single boot El Capitan. I am hoping to build a high end system with the latest and greatest while avoiding compatibility issues. I tried to stick to the Buyer's Guide but some things are not exact but similar. 1) Any red flags? Incompatibilities? 2) Is my power...

Seeking Skylake El Capitan Raid 0 Advice

Hi, I am a senior computer programmer and I have built 3 Window rigs in the past and been very happy with them, but I work on Mac these days and need a new high end developer machine. In my quest for ultimate machine performance I want to run 3x Samsung 950 Pro M.2 512GB NVMe in RAID 0 on...
