Dell Vostro 3750 on Yosemite not fully functional

I guess you're right. Like a lawyer who knows a legal procedure better than anybody else and always finds a fault. But even he would tell you what fault you made. Oh, I included a darwin dumper file that was not requested. It's ok, this is your place, you make the rules and if I don't like them...

Dell Vostro 3750 on Yosemite not fully functional

In post 4 you asked for problem reporting files that had been attached to post 1, now you ask whether I followed the guide how to make a working installer stick while I already have one - the system is up and running, just not fully functional as the title of the thread says. I respect of course...

Dell Vostro 3750 on Yosemite not fully functional

So you think there is something wrong with the installer stick I used? Maybe you just saw the attached BIOS-pictures and thought "he can't get beyond that stage of the boot process". I understand of course that many people ask you many questions here and there is not much time for each of them...

Dell Vostro 3750 on Yosemite not fully functional

Problem reporting files, I hope, the appropriate ones, are attached to the first post. Sorry for picking the guide from the wrong section. Anyway my theory for now is that the fan-problem is caused by the BIOS or it's settings. It might even be not a bug but a feature if you want a cool...

Dell Vostro 3750 on Yosemite not fully functional

Following this guide I generated SSDT.aml, copied it to /EFI/Clover/ACPI/patched after removing the other SSDT*.aml - files from there, edited my clover config.plist with clover configurator by checking AppleIntelCPUPM in the KernelAndKextPatches menu, rebooted and tried to test power management...

Dell Vostro 3750 on Yosemite not fully functional

I installed Yosemite on a Dell Vostro 3750 with a Sandy Bridge i5 (2410M) following this guide and stumbled into some problems. Some things are already working fine - graphics, sleep and wake, ethernet. Not really working yet: 1) The fans are constantly spinning. There are 3 fan profiles in...

[Guide] Native Power Management for Laptops

I installed Yosemite on a Dell Vostro 3750 with a Sandy Bridge i5 (2410M) following this guide and stumbled into some problems. At least one of them seems to be power management related - the fans are constantly spinning. I think because the installation method only works out of the box for i3...

    Dell Vostro 3750 / i7 2670QM C-States

After patching my dsdt by adding the HDEF entry AppleHDA now works fine - I don't use the latest chameleon - and it's a big improvement. Before I got kernel panics on every second boot, now I just press the power button and the vostro goes to work. Just wake after sleep doesn't work yet. I'm...

    lion alc269

I found a dsdt patch for the Dell Vostro 3750 and AppleHDA now seems to work fine, much better than VoodooHDA for ALC269. The boot trouble seems to be gone. But I'm afraid this patch won't work for other machines with different layout ID's.

Hi ashp, could you add the AppleHDA patch to my attached dsdt? It's already patched for graphics, power management and everything except AppleHDA. I actually use VoodooHDA for ALC269 but as you said it seems to cause some trouble. The machine, a Dell Vostro 3750 without graphic card, just hd...

    Dell Vostro 3750 / i7 2670QM C-States

But I think there is a problem with this VoodooHDA version (I use another VoodooHDA.kext on my desktop without any problems). When I reinstalled it I first got some error messages that remind me of boot crash messages, something like "apple iokit not loaded". So perhaps AppleHDA instead of...

    Dell Vostro 3750 / i7 2670QM C-States

After installing the attached AppleHDA.kext to S/L/E with the latest kext utility sound doesn´t work on my 3750.

    Dell Vostro 3750 / i7 2670QM C-States

That sounds easy. I already use a dsdt, made by the great maldon (for the Vostro 3550 - same board, smaller display, different BIOS that doesn't act as a Windows dongle. I think the 3750 needs a normal, not crippled BIOS for OSx86. Linux and OSx86 users seem to be better off with the 3550. The...

    Dell Vostro 3750 / i7 2670QM C-States

Could you explain how to install your attached AppleHDA.kext? I guess it takes a dsdt-patch to make it work. I'm actually using a VoodooHDA version for the ALC269 codec. It works more or less but I think it's one of the reasons why the systems sometimes or pretty often kernel panics on boot with...
