Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

I'm running an ASUS Z790 board with the 13900KF along with the ASUS thunderbolt 4 card with no issues so far.

    Z790 Chipset & Raptor Lake

Yeah this was a lot harder for me than previous Hackintosh's - was coming from an AMD 5950x that was really straightforward but it had been out a lot longer so a lot of work had already been done to patch Opencore. I recommend installing Catalina first - there are a couple of good EFI's to use...

    Z790 Chipset & Raptor Lake

Just posting an update. First thanks so much to everyone that assisted on this Forum - very much appreciated! - CaseySJ, Feartech, ori69, Leesureone. I haven't managed to sort out the port mapping yet (as I had to get on with some work), but will come back to that shortly, currently running...

    Z790 Chipset & Raptor Lake

Thanks! Will try that! Just to confirm once the map is done Both the SSDT-UIAC and USBInjectALL are disabled? Everything is meant to work from just the USBPort.kext? At the moment I have no mouse / keyboard when I do that so going to add OpenUsbKbDxe to drivers now and see if it changes! Any...

    Z790 Chipset & Raptor Lake

Apologies, but every time I disable the SSDT above I loose mouse and keyboard, in this guide it suggests that you just have the USBInjectALL.kext and the port limit in place and then you can see what USB ports you can have in Hackintool - with this Z790 board when I do that I loose all USB ports...

Cheers! Also where can I find the USBPorts.kext?

    Z790 Chipset & Raptor Lake

Ok thanks, am I right in thinking the 'ALL' part can renamed to anything? I'm currently running USBInjectALL with this enabled in the ACPI folder - SSDT-UIAC-ASUS-Z690-PROART-ALL-PORTS.aml Is anything after the UIAC part allowed to be named freely?

    Z790 Chipset & Raptor Lake

Hi everyone, Just opening this thread on Z790 motherboards. Previously I had a Ryzen 5950x system which was a little easier in getting up and running surprisingly. Have just been working on a new build with 13900kf and Z790 - ASUS ROG STRIX Gaming - E. Had a few issues regarding USB ports on...

Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

Sorry guys, confused about something. On my AMD system I never had to worry about USB being picked up. Have got Catalina to boot but again no keyboard and mouse working. With USBInjectALL I'm slightly confused - does this need a partner SSDT with it and if yes is there a universal SSDT. I have...

Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

Yes I would prefer if I could get Catalina working then map from there. The EFI you linked will that work with Catalina as it allows me to boot to Monetary but I have had real problems getting Catalina to work previously.

Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

Ok thanks. Will try and get Catalina installed. Will the EFI that works on Monterey work on Catalina?

Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

Just wondering how people map their USB ports on Big Sur / Monterey. At the moment I can boot to Monterey with mouse and keyboard working only if I use the ASUS Proart z690 usb map (SSDT) (My board is ASUS ROG STRIX Gaming Z790). Keyboard and mouse do not work if I use the All Ports SSDT /...

Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

Nice one guys! Have finally got into OSX with mouse and keyboard working. (Does seem temperamental and unpredictable booting, sometimes it restarts / sometimes it doesnt, sometimes it gets stuck on - [EB|#LOG:EXITBS:START] Now going to map the USB ports - any advice doing this for Monterey...

Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

Thanks so much for the suggestions! Legends! UPDATE. 1. Loaded the efi (thanks Casey!) on to a USB bootable installer - Same problem as before 2. Loaded efi on to an ssd (nvme using the onboard m.2 slots) bootable installer - Got to the grey screen asking for keyboard and mouse. 3. Installed...

Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

Ok I actually have Catalina on a couple of nvme drives. My original plan was to update the efi as was in an AMD Ryzen system. But ran into problems with that but will try different slots I will try again with the efi I put on the USB drives and see if I can get catalina to boot from the nvme...

Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

I figured to get this system up and running I need to get Catalina installed first to be able map the USB ports. Have a got a little further than I did earlier with Catalina (inching slowly closer ). But currently got this hang at an ACPI warning. Anyone have any ideas whats causing this...

Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

Hi Casey Have tried all the USB ports, they give varying results but I still get a Kernel Panic related to AppleSMC or just the screen with a grey circle and a line through it - see below. Depending on where the drive is plugged - it will freeze straight away or boot until SMCSuperIO - will...
