OS X 10.8.2 improves USB 3.0 and adds support for some 3rd party controllers

Article: OS X 10.8.2 improves USB 3.0 and adds support for some 3rd party controllers On boards with Intel USB 3.0 controllers you're not supposed to install any third party drivers, as that can break the Intel USB 3.0 ports, so if you installed the drivers that comes with MultiBeast, then...

OS X 10.8.2 improves USB 3.0 and adds support for some 3rd party controllers

One general thing, PLEASE update your BIOS/UEFI/Firmware to the latest version for your motherboard/USB 3.0 controller, if available. This is very important and in the case of USB 3.0 controllers, for the ones that can have their firmware updated, this is usually done in Windows, although some...

OS X 10.8.2 improves USB 3.0 and adds support for some 3rd party controllers

As you know, we've all been digging around Apple's latest update to OS X and we've found one interesting tidbit so far that wasn't mentioned in the official release notes. Apple has added support for some third party USB 3.0 host controllers. We'd heard some suggestions about this a little...

Issue with the USB 3.0 chip (renesas)

Apple updated its USB 3.0 drivers (more on this in a separate post coming on the front page later) and you might have to remove the Apple driver. We're still testing things, so bare with us.

Has anyone tested the GTX 660 (non-Ti)?

That's really, really odd. Clearly there's some kind of check in place that doesn't recognize the GK106 GPUs.

    [SUCCESS] GA-Z77-DS3H - i5 3570k - nVidia GT640

We're aware of the Intel USB 3.0 ports not working with USB 2.0 devices. The only solution for this is to use a USB 3.0 hub, or at least the VLI hubs on the GA-Z77-UD5H and UP5 TH boards allow USB 2.0 devices to be plugged in. That said, this is a weird issue, as we presume Apple isn't suffering...

Has anyone tested the GTX 660 (non-Ti)?

Sorry to say, but that's terrible advice as the 7000-series from AMD is so far not supported at all. You either have to go up or down the Nvidia product range with a GTX 660 Ti or a GTX 650.
