    successful Gigabyte P55M-UD2 / F11 Mavericks install

Thanks! This fixed my sleep problem too, same p55m-ud2 board. Sleep worked fine before on 10.6.8, and now again on 10.9.3. EDIT: Well, now that Apple just released 10.9.4 (which is supposed to address some sleep issues) I wonder if this is still necessary. No time to check right now...

    Building a CustoMac: Buyer's Guide July 2013

Speaking of graphics cards, what would be some solid options for someone running Snow Leopard still? (10.6.8). I see that all the recommended cards on the list do not work for SL.

    Building a CustoMac: Buyer's Guide July 2013

Article: Building a CustoMac: Buyer's Guide July 2013 Photoshop will be able to utilize whatever GPU you have installed in your Hack, assuming it is supported by Photoshop, which most modern cards are. Not so much a Hackintosh issue as it is an Adobe one, check out this FAQ...

No internal ATA bus (Jmicron) [SOLVED]

Awesome! I was able to install the ApplePCIIDE.kext from InsanelyMac using KextBeast- http://www.tonymacx86.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=32 and both my PATA hard drive and IDE optical drive started working again! Still on 10.6.8 here; everything worked when I built my setup, but at some...

Will these components work for a hackintosh? HELP PLEASE :)

Just make sure you only install 4GB of RAM for the installation of OS X. After that you can put in the other 4.

    firewire concerns.

I have an Alesis MultiMix Firewire 16-channel recording interface that is Firewire 400 only. It works well on my build. I chose the GA-P55M-UD2 board specifically for the FW400 port. It's no longer available I'm sure, but if you can find one that does have a FW400 port built-in I would...

Trying to install Windows 7; problems!

Indeed. I am sure going with SATA optical drives from the start would result in higher success rates, and less headaches overall.

Trying to install Windows 7; problems!

I appreciate your intent to help but in the interest of helping the community at large I feel obligated to correct your statement: I have successfully installed both OS X 10.6.3 and now Windows 7 using my old Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-111D which is absolutely a PATA device. The problem I was having...

Trying to install Windows 7; problems!

OK, not really sure which way to go next. What I was trying to do was to install Windows 7 64-bit on a second 1TB SATA drive. I had OS X 10.6.6 running perfectly on the original 1TB drive. I attached the second 1TB drive on the blue SATA port right below where the original one was connected...

eSATA not working, also userDSDT causes crash on boot

Also- Sleep now works! The case fans will spin for a few seconds after the screen goes black, probably just to cool the processor down enough and then it all go quiet, and it all comes back to life again when you hit the keyboard. Great!

eSATA not working, also userDSDT causes crash on boot

Gordoalac- thank you! I emptied out my Extras folder, downloaded and ran the DSDT-Auto Patcher, installed the DSDT.aml file it generated on the desktop using MultiBeast, restarted and it worked! :headbang: Audio, network, graphics, eSATA all work. Time Machine is backing up my main drive...

eSATA not working, also userDSDT causes crash on boot

I've got a GA-P55M-UD2 board, currently running 10.6.6. I just got an external backup drive with an eSATA port that I would like to use, but it doesn't seem to be working. The drive also has USB 2.0 over which it does work, so I know the drive & case are OK. Oddly, after formatting the drive...

    Installing custom DSDT not working...

Well presently the com.apple.Boot.plist files are identical because I replaced the active one with my backup. The one that was there after trying to install the custom DSDT was deleted. I guess I could try installing it again and then checking to see how it might be different. Was that what...

    Installing custom DSDT not working...

I have the GA-P55M-UD2 board, and referencing this photo I took of the BIOS I'm pretty sure it is F11. OS X 10.6.6. I downloaded DSDT-GA-P55M-UD2-F11.aml, leaving it on the desktop, then running MultiBeast 3.1, checking the UserDSDT install and System Utilities check boxes. The installer...

Adobe Audition for Mac - Public Beta!

I just used it at work to run a batch process 180 aiff files with great results. The built-in Audition change pitch & timing effect, set to change the timing of these files to 200% of their original speed, without changing the pitch yields much better results than the Apple Soundtrack Pro 3. I...

GA-H55-USB3 on sale for $99 at NewEgg...

Glad to hear it works. Still, I am not sure if it is the right board for me since it seems to be a bit wider than the P55M-UD2, and for the case I want to use I might not be able to access all the PCI slots as configured. USB 3 would be nice, but as you say it is not supported yet.

    tonymacx86 Build - GA-H55N-USB3 - Core i3-530 (Mini-ITX)

Nice small build, but no Firewire? What would it take to get FW in a case this size? Are there really no mini-ITX motherboards with on board IEEE 1394?
