Why the lack of interest in using the OCLP accelerated patch for Nvidia cards?

Yes, I know, I meant HS. I don't see any advantage in updating this box to HS, because less and less software is supporting it. High Sierra is reaching the point of being dropped by new versions of web browsers, and this is usually the point where the machine stops being usable for usual tasks...

Why the lack of interest in using the OCLP accelerated patch for Nvidia cards?

To be honest, I don't think I'm the first one in having interest: Support for Pascal Nvidia cards is sort of a FAQ in the forum. The standard reply is "they don't work anymore". But reality is that they can work with acceleration, even if the status is experimental. Given the interest that there...

Why the lack of interest in using the OCLP accelerated patch for Nvidia cards?

I built a hackintosh (clover-based) years ago, with a Nvidia Pascal Titan, running MacOS Sierra with Nvidia drivers (in fact I'm typing this from this very same machine). The point is that I need to work with relatively big gfx cards (mainly with OpenGL and OpenCL), and this hackintosh offers a...

    [Success] TP-Link TL-WDN4800 Revision 1.3 PCIe WiFi Card & OS X 10.9.4

Plug and play. Nothing to install. Works great both when installing 10.11.6 from scratch and 10.12.6 from scratch. Now, over a month using 10.12.6, I can confirm it works flawlessly there.

No Audio Devices - Realtek ALC AppleHDA [Guide]

Today I booted and... audio works o_O I promise I hadn't done anything since my last reboot yesterday. My last try was MultiBeast for installing ALC887 together with 100 Series. I rebooted and I didn't have audio. Then I prepared all the attached files above and switched off the computer. Today...

No Audio Devices - Realtek ALC AppleHDA [Guide]

No audio. Sierra 10.12.6 (from scratch) Gigabyte Z170-HD3P 6700K @ 4GHz Pascal Titan X (with NVIDIA webdrivers correctly installed and working) The procedure I used is explained in the 03_and_10-procedure_used.txt attached file. I think I attached all the stuff you said, but in case you need...

    [Success] TP-Link TL-WDN4800 Revision 1.3 PCIe WiFi Card & OS X 10.9.4

I can confirm that my TL-WDN-4800 (revision 1.3) works flawlessly on Sierra, just like it did on ElCapitan (10.11.6). I get the whole 50MB bandwidth from my fiber provider, and it never switched off for all the time I've been using it today. I'm not sure what could be the reason for the problems...

    [GUIDE-to-be]Gigabyte Z170-HD3P

How did you follow that guide exactly? I tried but it failed. BTW, yes, finally I did update to Sierra, but I installed it from scratch in another disk (so my procedure was different to yours, as you updated from 10.11). So I have now a 10.11.6 installation and a 10.12.6 installation, but the...

    Sierra Desktop/Realtek AppleHDA Audio

I've a Gigabyte Z170-HD3P. I believe the audio chip is ALC887. I have sound correctly working in a 10.11.6 installation from last summer, but today I installed 10.12.6 from scratch in a new disk, and I've not been able to get sound working yet. First, I tried to reinstall audio (only audio...

What was your primary reason for building a hackintosh?

I built my Hackintosh because I needed a good NVIDIA GPU and a Pro box with current specs. The Mac Pro was (and still is) outdated when I built my Hackintosh.

    [SUCCESS] Triple boot | Gigabyte-Z170-HD3P | i7 6700K@4GHz | 32GB 2400MHz DDR4

Sorry, I completely missed your posts! It's been quite a few weeks! Do you still need this? Note that I'll be updating to Sierra very soon (I've halted my update plan because of work, not having spare time right now, and being curious about the 10.12.5 release date, but I'll update sometime in...

    [SOLVED] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080/1070

The only unexpected numbers there are from the 1080. On the other hand, the 1080-Ti is getting a similar LuxMark score as the Pascal Titan X scores from the LuxMark site (22335 vs 24536), which is a really *great* score, specially if you consider that the Titan X score was obtained in Windows...

Black Screen After Updating to 10.12.5

So it seems the system freeze while playing video with Safari is affecting users of previous GPU generations only... I'm not seeing any reports from Pascal users hit by this.

Does anybody else experience this? I'm not finding others reporting this. What GPU do you have?

    Enabling 10-bit color?

I'm also interested in this. If you really mean allowing OpenGL windows to be created with a depth higher than 8bit/component, it's a very powerful feature, although traditionally (at least on Linux/UNIX) can break some applications that assume that creating a window with the best visual will...

    [SOLVED] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080/1070

Oh!! You've been *fast* , NVIDIA!! :):):) I'm still preparing my update to Sierra --I thought it was going to be a mid-week release  BTW, if anybody installs the drivers with a Pascal Titan X (the one from last Summer, not the newest Xp), please share your experiences, as I'll be using...

NVIDIA Announces 'Pascal' Graphics Drivers Coming to MacOS

I'm also at El Capitan, but I believe it's not a good release to stay at for too long: The Disk Utility is badly broken in El Capitan, and it seems they improved it in Sierra (well, unlikely it will get close to the older Disk Utility in all its glory, but still I think it's better in Sierra...

    [SOLVED] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080/1070

True, that makes the point even more obvious: They didn't need help from Apple for writing the Maxwell drivers, why would they need help for Pascal? Your comment makes sense, though: The "help from Apple" sentence might really mean "Apple releasing products that use NVIDIA GPUs". Without such...
