I can confirm that the adapter does support audio, as tested in Windows OS. Still, i will purchase the mini HDMI cable for further testing.

As of the moment, my mini HDMI cable is damaged, so i'm left with the option of using the DVI port via DVI-HDMI cable. I will try to purchase a new cable then post an update, using the HDMI port instead of DVI.
