I love using a Mac to record and produce music, and building a hack just makes that even easier, so...
How many musicians do we have here on the board? How about pictures of some of our instruments (I'll take some of mine in a bit)?

Ok, here is my collection:

Gibson Les Paul Standard

Gretsch Jr. Jet bass (this is actually my wife's):

And the newest edition to my guitar family, a Gretsch G5129:

Hi,

Nice collection of guitars, I like the last Gretsch:)
I am amateur musician/composer, I've used Windows and Cakewalk/Sonar so far, never tried it on Mac. Any software recomendations?

I second Tony on this one; Logic is a must. To a lesser extent I use Garageband (just for percussion) and Sound Studio (for quickie recording).

Thanks guys, I'll try it but after 15 years of using Cakewalk, it'll be hard to break the habit.

I think I need an ASIO hardware for Logic?

You learn something new everyday... haha. I haven't used Windows for recording since 1999, and I use the term "recording" loosely. :p

To answer the question properly, ASIO isn't needed then.

That's great, but I do need some good audio card for quality recording. I was thinkin to buy EMU 0404 USB, it has support for OSX and I red that it's a good card. I never stopped reading bout audio hardware thou I never thought I'll be using MAC someday. :)

@thelostswede

The link you posted opened my eyes, thanx! I thought that MAC's are using ASIO drivers like win audio hardware.
