Hi,
I recently got GA-P55-USB3 (Rev2). Installed 10.6 retail successfully, it worked very well. But after applying 10.6.3 update, I applied DSDT(bios F6) with Multibeast 2.0. The system reboots on next boot. I tried 10.6.4 update, no luck.
Does any body successful update to 10.6.3 or 10.6.4 on P55-USB3 board?
Graphics card: EVGA 9800GT Memory 4G G.Skill
Thank you very much

I've got the Rev 2 motherboard and have not been able to get things working properly despite several different methods. I know others have done well with Rev 1, but I think they may have changed audio and networking chips. I'm having trouble with both in 10.6.4 and also with coming out of sleep. I didn't even try 10.6.2, but if that's working properly, I'd be glad with that. Have you gotten 10.6.2 to work fully (ie sleep, network, sound?) with the Rev 2 MB?

They did change the ethernet and codec chips in the Rev 2 boards. The ethernet chip is now the RTL8111E which is not currently supported by the RealtekR1000SL driver. You can use the official Realtek driver in 32-bit mode. As for audio they switched to the ALC892. Voodoohda 0.2.1 works fine with this chip based on tonymac's testing. You can use the current version of MultiBeast to install these drivers.

I'm using a wired Apple keyboard and a wireless USB mouse. Neither will nudge the system out of sleep and the only option I've found around that (besides disabling sleep mode) is to do a hard reboot.

There were USB issues with 10.6.3 that were fixed in 10.6.4. Are you using the DSDT from the database?

Yes, I tried with the DSDT from the database using the correct version of the BIOS and still having a few problems. The main issue I want to start with is sleep. After an install with just the DSDT package, when it goes to sleep, it seems more like a hibernation. THe computer essentially shuts down immediately - no lights, no fan, etc. But, it does respond to a keyboard input by rebooting. Is this the best I can hope for - to have to reboot whenever it goes to sleep and I want to wake it - or is there a more traditional sleep function to be had? Sound problem is interesting. With just the DSDT and Voodoo 0.2.1, the sound still doesn't work. As a matter of fact, the preferences says there are no devices installed. When I plugged in an iMic usb soundcard, the sound still didn't work, but the preferences showed the iMic device as the input and output device. Why wouldn't a USB device that is supposed to work without drivers in OSX not work? Puzzling. Holy crap. I was just tinkering around with the preferences while I was typing some of this stuff and the networking started working. I'm in 64 bit mode and I didn't think that was possible with the chip on the Rev 2 board. Besides that, I just ran the install for the Kext you reccommended and it gave me an error on install, probably because I'm in 64 bit mode, and I haven't even rebooted. I'm happy, but it's distressing to not have things work when you think they should, and have things work when they're not supposed to. Any thoughts?

Finally I can provide an answer instead of a question. I couldn't get the sound to work using the Voodoo kext MacMan recommended. But after looking at the install screen on Multibeast, I saw a reference to another kext that might not work with it. I removed it from the S/L/E and I think that fixed the problem.
Regarding networking, althought I posted that I was in 64 bit mode earlier, I'm not sure I was. I was doing that very late at night and I'm not even sure about that now, but I checked just now and it's in 32 bit mode. The only thing I'd add is that it didn't seem to start working until I opened the preferences for networking and clicked on the Ethernet button (that was red) and it then got it's IP address through DHCP and started working. It didn't do this on it's own, I had to click on it before it would grab an IP address. That may be old news to many of you, but I didn't realize it wouldn't be automatic.
As of now, I'm almost "perfect". As mentioned by a previous poster, the drives are showing as external. I could care less about that, but wondering why that happened. Also, my sleep mode is more like hibernation. When it goes to sleep it is as dead as off as far as I can tell, except when you hit a key, it boots from scratch. Literally, a full reboot. Hardly "sleep", but does accomplish power saving when afk for an extended time. Any suggestions for fixing that would be appreciated.
