Sorry - don't know why this posted twice, how do I delete the other post!???

Hi,

Just put together a system - basically Power Build 3 but with a HD 5770 batmobile card.

GA-P55A-UD3
Gigabyte HD 5770 1GB Batmobile
i7 870 - 2.93

Everything seems to be fine with 10.6.6 - however when I try to sleep the system shuts down and any resume is just a reboot.

Question is - does anyone else have working sleep with this setup, is there something I'm missing.

I have followed the bios guides and selected these options in Multibeast:

UserDSDT - using F11 DSDT file from DB
ALC8xxHDA
AppleHDA Rollback
JMicron 36x (ATA & SATA) - not strictly needed as I won't be using it
Lnx2Mac's Realtek Ethernet
Chameleon 2.0 RC5 ATI Experimental
Themes
OSx86

Thanks to all!

Paul.

Hi karacho,

Thanks for your reply - sorry for the dbl post, wasn't me :)

I actually followed your guide as we had very similar hardware down to the SSD drive.

I did tick System utilities when i installed.....

The differences in our system appear to be

UD3 Rev1 vs Rev2
NVIDIA vs ATI
You mention not installing on board NIC, I have used Lnx2Mac for on-board NIC.

If anyone has any ideas what to check next it would be greatly appreciated, sleep is a bit of a deal breaker for me.

Thanks! :)

Hi,

After a LOT more research and time I was about to give up with getting sleep to work.

As a final throw of the dice I tried the P55A-UD3 rev1 F11 DSDT file on my rev2 F11 board.

Straight away sleep works, instantly shuts down all case fans and drives (no pulsing light to indicate sleep but I think thats the board). Pressing the power button or mouse and it wakes up and jumps straight back into OS X within 2 seconds.

However - sound doesn't work (I only had a few minutes and the rest of the system seemed fine)

I've been selecting the same Multibeast audio options that were working with the rev2 DSDT : ALC8xx & AppleHDA Rollback.

Does anyone know what why the DSDT might be breaking sleep with the V2 board?
or
How might I go about getting sound to work again?

Thanks

Paul.

Ok, so I could kick myself.

Sleep now works perfectly with the original rev2 DSDT file, the issue was I wasn't ticking the "start up automatically after a power failure" box in System Preferences.

I don't know why this works because it's sleep not a failure, but it works so I don't mind at all!!!!!

I can now say to anyone considering the P55A-UD3 it seems to work very well.

I have it on a Mugen 2 cooler and with some cpu and memory overclocking I'm getting XBench of 395 and Geekbench of 10900.

Very pleased.

Good luck

Paul.

Re: GA-P55A-UD3, HD 5770, 10.6.6, - No Sleep? - SOLVED

Hi subnet192

Assuming you're using Multibeast 3.2.0 then make sure you select

Chameleon 2.0 R5 - ATI Experimental

Should work on the next reboot.

It's all working very well for me.
