Power supply Sandy Bridge

This is a noob question, but are all power supplies more or less the same as long as they use the modern atx motherboard connector? I am building an LGA 1155 computer, and this power supply is on sale for $39 with a promo on newegg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817139019

I will be using the 2600 and a 5770 card.

Should suit it perfectly, what you should be looking out for is wether or not it will fit your case. But as for supplying the motherboard and graphics card its 100%.

Be careful on which MOBO model you are selecting. Some comes with 4PIN and 8PIN 12V power connector. If you are selecting a board that need the 8PIN power source, then your power supply must have it.

What happened to me then that I was using the old power supply, but it only has 4PIN power source and my BOARD needs 8PIN. I end up having to get another PSU.

consider your future expansion of adding more drives and peripherals and ensure your planned purchase of the PSU has adequate juice.
