Hi there,

Second time trying a hackintosh, now with a good notebook.

Specs:
CPU: Core i5-2410M
RAM: 4Gb
Video(s): SandyBridge Intel HD + Radeon 6470M

Issues:
I can't get mouse to work, not even USB mouse. The USB 3.0 port lits the mouse, but it doesn't work either. USB 2.0 ports won't give any signal. :banghead:

I had to do my best to get it installed and used Terminal + su + installer for the .pkg files ( manually ). I have managed to get this far becaus I'm used to linux. I installed the comboupdate, SandyBridgeHelper and VoodooPS2Controller.

What works:
Video ( Not sure which card, I don't know how to check this, nor check resolution )
Bluetooth ( I tried BlueputDroid as the mouse, but blueputdroid simply doesn't work ). File transfer worked.
Ethernet worked fine

What is not working:
Wireless: Not sure if wireless is working... the BT and Wireless cards are enabled/disabled by the same switch. The bluetooth id disabled correctly.
Keyboard: Keyboard seems not to be detected correctly. Eject button doesn't work
TouchPad: Last, but not least, touchpad isn't working.

There are some screens I can't get focus or use TAB to cycle through the buttons :(

Under linux, console mode, gpm -m /dev/input/mice -t imps2 works fine
Xorg.0.log Shows some udev events such as:
"config/udev: Adding input device Sony Vaio Jogdial (/dev/input/mouse1)"

That's all I have now. I'll try my friend's Magick Mouse tonight and try to get lucky.

I may post/attach lshal and lshw results if anyone asks for it. :!: :!: :!:

No real help for your main issues, but this may be useful.. multibeast has a NEC USB 3.0 driver in it. Not sure if thats what the VAIO uses or not. my guess is you may need a USB rollback for USB 2.0 if the touchpad is connected there? Where does windows/Linux say the touchpad is connected?

Additionally if you can get to the option... In System Preferences/Keyboard, under Keyboard shortcuts, at the bottom select the "All Controls" option under Full Keyboard Access... This allows you to tab through ALL the controls in a dialog box instead of just some...

Sorry man, I gave up again :banghead:

I tried once with an i3 ( old gen ) , and again with this current VAIO model. No joy on both cases, different progresses.

I guess we're better off with a "deskintosh", this way we have better control on hardware selection. A desktop with correctly chosen hardware is more prone to work right.

If I ever get to try again, I'll update this topic.

Good Luck

hello...

i can only point you into the right places...

you will need somewhat more knowledge than the average user to accomplish what you want to do...

hope these threads gives some light into your hardware as both these threads are new gen intel stuff which is not 100% supported, some of them are easier, some not so... just takes the time to figure it out...

peace out...
