I got this card but it isnt recognized by my system, it should work with the Broadcom chip..
profiler says:
" 0c:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4328 802.11a/b/g/n [14e4:4328] (rev 03)"
I installed drivers for it under Vista, too..

perhaps a little plist tweaking, what Wifi kext is stock installed on SL ?

greets

I run the same card...

0b:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4328 802.11a/b/g/n (rev 03)

Different slot than you obviously:

Didn't have to do anything at all, I have used my DSDT to customize it to be called an AirPort in slot AirPort, but other than that it worked out of the box...

Jamba,

we have the same machine, same card in the same slot.
the dw1505 card worked out of the box for me. no need to do anything.
my profile:
0c:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4328 802.11a/b/g/n [14e4:4328] (rev 03).

double check your S/L/E/IO80211Family.kext and make sure the AppleAirPortBcrm* plugins are there.
go further by checking device ID [14e4:4328] - while your at it.

ok, it worked..I booted into my backup and..Voila :p
great.

BTW, you installed a T9300 in your 1720? does it support this CPU, interesting, I thought of this,too..a pity that it doesnt run 800Mhz RAM..

cheers

Moved to correct forum, Laptop Support.

good to know everything worked out well for you.
the 1505's are terrific cards. i have them in both of my quad boot rigs.
works OOB for WinXP,Win7,Ubuntu10.10 and of course OSX-SL. (no ethernet required- installations)

its a little known fact - but after a year into its introduction
Dell did offer a T9300 upgrade on the 1720. running on 800MHz FSB (Santa Rosa)

http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/dell-inspiron-1720-laptop/1707-3121_7-33196923.html

and of course a few months later -in true dell fashion- they retired it.
some folks in the notebook forums even did a T9500 and X9000 upgrade on this model.
the X9000 of course get stuck at 2.8GHz since they cant overclock it on the 1720.
just to be safe. make sure you have the A09 bios version before you do it.
