Can't boot into OS X Installation ASUS Extreme

Hello All,

I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm new to the x8 scene. I'm trying to install osx on the following hardware.

Asus Rampage III Gene
Intel i7-950
12gb of RAM
Radeon 6950 2gb Video Card

I changed my settings in BIOS to ACHI and to ACHI on the Marvel on board. Disabled USB 3.0 as well.


I booted to iboot and placed OSX in my dvd drive and when i select it it just reboots and does not enter installer. tried the -x and the PCIRootUID=1 commands and no luck.

Any help or insight would be great thanks!

Make sure your video card is supported, I thought someone mentioned 6950 was not. But I could be wrong. One thing about ASUS boards is that the DVD drives are finicky and I solved a problem with one by getting an ASUS DVD. Also disable peripherals other than USB-2 until you get the updates and multibeast installed. Disable till Stable pretty much to make sure your Graphics are good. Then go back in and enable the ones you want 1 after the other if you get panics. Make sure your Partition is less than 1 Terabyte. I use SATA-0 for my DVD and SATA-1 for HDD. I got a P6X58D going so yours should get going too.
