Xonar Essence STX or other Equivalent/Better card in 10.6.8+

Hi Everyone,

I'm introducing my kids to instruments, and am purchasing a Keyboard Workstation, and eDrums. I'd like to get into recording, sequencing etc on my hackintosh. I'm shopping for a good quality card that will work.

Reviews indicate that ASUS XONAR Essence STX is a strong contender. Will it work? Are there better choices? Price is not as important as functionality, quality for recording and playback. 24/192 preferred with low latency ASIO drivers.

ATI 6950 2 GB (no native res in 10.6.8 yet - any ideas??)

keen to hear of any audiofile type cards that work with osx also. Best bet is probably an external DAC that works with Standard Apple Macs. Let me no how you go man
