It's either me or the hardware I'm using.
My current rig is:
Mobo - ASUS P8P67 Deluxe
Chip - Intel I7 2600k sandy bridge
Ram - 16gigs ddr3
Hdd - 750gig seagate(I have plenty of others)
Sandard DVD rom/burner
retail copy of osx snow leopard

now for the very simple issue,
the install goes all the way to the last 2min of install then fails, no error codes that I read but it locks up my machine cant click anything but the restart button.
Then nothing

Can you give us more details on which guide you followed, confirm BIOS settings, HDD formatting....did you remember to install using only 4 GB or RAM?

Did you try any boot flags at the Chameleon screen?

It might be your graphics card the 6950 may not be supported in Snow Leopard. You might want to do a search....it isn't listed in the hardware wiki.

I removed all but 4gigs of ram and trying again with empire efi.
Will update with results
Currently dont have another vid card i can try with, crossing

I had similar issue with x58 asus board. try -v -f options to install.

6950 is not fully supported by OSX at this time as well.
Bingo! A search for compatible components would have revealed that the 6900 series is not yet supported in SL or Lion.
