Does anyone still have their original wifi/bluetooth card for this machine? I was so confident I'd run this thing as a hackintosh forever that I threw mine away. Now I want to put Debian on it, but don't want to mess with Broadcom wifi drivers. :(
Also, @RehabMan, the last three years running...
Okay, just kidding – in light of your comment, I removed realtekALC.kext, and then realized I hadn't put any of the essential kexts (the ones installed into /S/L/E by ./install_downloads.sh) into EFI/Clover/kexts. Once I copied all those kexts onto the EFI partition, the update worked like a...
I'm actually not having success with the upgrade. When booting to "OS X Install,", the startup progress bar crawls forward a bit (maybe 1%-ish) and then the screen does this.
I'm satisfied with Yosemite for now, but if you have any suggestions or pointers, I'd be glad to take them.
For...
Thanks again.
From what I can see, the master branch of this repo does not include a ./build directory (though the full_patch branch does), so running 'cd brix.git && mkdir ./build' before 'make' solved the problem for me.
I'll edit in a moment with the results of my upgrade to 10.11!
Awesome! Pulled a fresh copy of the repo, ./download.sh'ed, ./install_downloads.sh'ed, and then make threw the following error:
iasl -ve -p build/SSDT-HACK.aml SSDT-HACK.dsl

Does anyone know if it's safe to upgrade to El Capitan after installing with this guide?
I checked tony's guide here, but can't complete steps 2 or 3 because my FakeSMC/other related kexts are in /S/L/E (can they just continue living there, or should I copy them to /EFI/Clover/kexts/10.11?)...
Correct.
I can tell you that I get equal results with CloverALC and with BOTH CloverALC AND your guide. To be honest, I don't really understand what CloverALC does, so I don't know whether your patch overwrote the changes it made, or whether those changes persisted and run concurrently with...
Gigabyte brix GB-BXi5H-4200
Looks great. Crystal clear; wish I'd started this whole process yesterday instead ;) Do you want me to reply here or there in the future?
1) Prior to completing all the steps in your guide, using CloverALC, 2-channel headphone audio was already working successfully...
JUST KIDDING, CloverALC totally did the trick; I was just running it with the wrong (/an incompatible) Audio ID. CloverALC with `Audio ID: 1` works perfectly!
I'm pretty sure that means this machine is good to go. I can't think of any other hardware it contains that isn't working the way it's...
That's a damn shame. I doubt I have the qualifications required to figure it out myself, but if I manage to with the guide you publish, I'll definitely provide as complete instructions as possible as an addendum to your guide.
OK I think I'm almost there. I've gotten OS X installed to the hard drive, but I'm getting this weird error message when I try to install Clover. Could I trouble you to take one last look?

The one major caveat is that the boot doesn't exactly hang. It gets caught in what I'm pretty sure is a loop, because I see a lot of similar (if not identical) statements repeating over and over, like:
MacBook-Pro.local com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.kextd.435) <Notice>: Service exited due...
Thanks again for your support, RehabMan.
I've successfully installed Clover on a USB stick. It boots just fine, but hangs when trying to load the install_osx partition.
Is there any way you could help me figure out how to access the Clover bootlog so I can post it here for further...
Thanks for the lesson, RehabMan. Sorry I never responded; I got caught up in trying to learn as much as I could, and I really do appreciate how promptly and thoroughly you seem to respond to just about everyone around here; it's beyond me how you keep up, or even stay motivated to.
So I'm...
Not at all, your wisdom is vastly appreciated.
You sound confident that it can be done; any pointers here? I'd be glad to prepare a comprehensive guide if I can get it working myself. This is an area where my Google-Fu needs a lot of polishing; I wasn't even able to find any specifics on the...
