Hello there everyone,
Built an iMac this weekend. My 13 year old daughter eagerly helped (she loves Macs and could not wait for all the parts to arrive). \

Everything seems to be working so far except the sleep. When the computer sleeps, the screen locks up and no mouse or keyboard input is recognized. I have to turn it off and back on again to get it out of sleep. Hopefully, someone knows how to fix this.

Here is the build:

Additional front mounted 120mm fan run off of a y splitter\

BTW, I am dual booting with windows 7.
Build time was about 2.5 hours, including extra time to explain to my daughter what's a CPU, GPU, DIMM, etc...

Here is the install methodology:
Iboot Supported
Retail Snow 10.6.3
Update to 10.6.4
EasyBeast
Reboot to HD
Ethernet not working, so run:
Multibeast 2.3.0 options:
UserDSDT
System Utilities
Kexts >
Audio: ALC887/ALC888b,
Disk: IOHACBlockStorageInjector, Jmictron36xesata
Graphics / Enablers: NVenabler
Network: Realtek R1000SL
Misc: Voodoo PS/2 Controller
com.apple.boot.plist>
32-bit apple boot screen
smbios.plist/imac>
Core I7

Almost there, just need to get Sleep working!

Why did use a EasyBeast and UserDSDT?

That is probably why you are having problems.

Delete your /Extra folder and start over @:

You didn't list a video card, depending on the card you may not need NVEnabler.

Are you using a PS/2 keyboard and mouse? Otherwise you don't need Voodoo PS/2 Controller.

Why did use a EasyBeast and UserDSDT?

That is probably why you are having problems.

Actually, the guide was really easy up to this point, then I got confused. I tried to follow another UD2 example that another user posted. Thats why I went with EasyBeast and UserDSDT.

Sorry, I am still confused. How should I be doing it instead?

BTW, I updated the original post with the graphics card and mouse/keyboard.

Appreciate the help!

I would suggest you follow Lnx2Mac's Guide on his blog, http://lnx2mac.blogspot.com/2010/07/ins ... three.html

Re: GoBears' Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 Build - Probably Working..!

Ok, I think we got it now.

I will try that tonight and report back.
Also, I changed the title to "Probably working...!"

BTW, it would be great for beginners to link to that page from the main install guide.
That was extremely helpful!

If this works smoothly, I will give my wife's T61 a try!

Everything is working great now.
I advise everyone wanting a seamless install, to follow the advice on this post and use a combination of tonymacx86 and macman's guides. Don't forget to also use the lnx2mac realtek driver. If you follow those 3 guides together, I think its really easy. Now, time to enjoy a mac. Always wanted another apple ever since my Apple 2e when I was a kid. Its lots of fun to be back in the apple world!

Thanks so much to Tony, macman, lnx2mac, and others who are so helpful on this board.
