Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I was able to make it work. It's a Presonus Quantum audio interface (TB2 but using a TB2 to TB3 adapter) it was working when I first assembled the hackintosh but I had the good idea of upgrading the bios (without knowing that with NVM36 I would loose support of tb1/2 and that I could not revert to previous bios ... :D)

But I followed the procedure described by ffjigft changed the "BIOS lock" value temporarily and then flashed the 9901 using FPTW64, and after reboot it flashed NVM31 again and everything is back to normal :)
My TB2 device works just fine on Ventura after reverting the Bios and TB firmware.
Weird, mine wouldn't work after upgrading to Monterey and Ventura. It's an Apollo Silverface rack with TB card, nor did my TB UAD Satellite, BUT .. I purchased a TB3 UAD option card (which is half the price of their first TB option card) and TB4 cable, and it worked instantly. AND I can even turn it off without rebooting! Just like a real mac!! YAY! ..AND my Satellite works after using a Startech TB3 to TB2 adapter connected via the Apollo TB3 card daisy chain, not TB4 port on the z690 ProArt, for anyone in the same boat, this should work :)

@ianccc,
  1. After the Apple logo
    • How much time does macOS take to boot up now (after the Apple logo)?
    • Does wake-from-sleep work normally? Do the screens turn on within a "normal" amount of time?
  2. Asus logo stuck screen
    • This problem was originally described as follows:

  • Because this affects the Asus logo, it means this delay is due to BIOS. I think turning off internal Thunderbolt is actually a good option because (a) it does not work reliably in macOS, (b) it is not Thunderbolt-Bus enabled, and (c) Asus BIOS may be getting confused when two Thunderbolt controllers are present
  • So I'm glad to see that you said "I can live with it". :)

Glad you found a way to restore Ethernet. When you say "just switch the ethernet off, reboot and switch it on", are you referring to switching Ethernet off and on in macOS -> System Settings -> Network or switching it off and on in BIOS?

CaseySJ, I finally solved the ASUS log stuck screen problem. I swapped the GC-Titan-Ridge from slot M2-1 to M2-2. Bingo, no BIOS stuck anymore. I can turn on both internal and external Thunderbolt. But the Thunderbolt Bus has changed to PR13(Previous is PEG0). I tried to change the Thunderbolt SSDT from PEG0 to PR13 myself. It turned out failure. Can you help me pls? many thx.

Please disable SSDT-TB3-PEG0-PEGP.aml and install SSDT-TB3-RP13.aml (attached). Reboot and check if it works.

@SanAntonio,

I don't see anything wrong in your EFI configuration. Which software was used to update OpenCore? Was it HackinDROM?

Try performing:
  • Cold start (shutdown and flip power switch on PSU to OFF for 10 seconds, then power up)
  • Connect USB 3.0 device to a USB port and run IORegistryExplorer, then save and post the IOReg file (File -> Save As...)

I updated using OpenCoreUpdater application. Cold start didn't change a thing, neither did NVRAM reset.
Today I also had a weird symptom - my Logitech mouse (that's using a USB dongle) lost the config for programmable buttons and scroll wheel stoped working. I couldn't get into the system settings -> mouse and Logitech app also hanged on start.
I plugged a USB 3.0 stick into a port that should be USB 3.0 and I'm sending you IOReg file. I will try to revert to OpenCore 0.9.3 which I had previously (I have a backup) and check if that's the issue or is it something that changed in the latest MacOS security update

New FW :

ProArt Z690-CREATOR WIFI BIOS 3101
Version 3101
13.42 MB
2023/12/29
"1. Improve system stability
2. Update ME to version 16.1.30.2307
3. This update includes the patch for the LogoFAIL vulnerabilities
4. Add PCIe Bifurcation options for GPU with M.2 storage

Updating this BIOS will simultaneously update the corresponding intel ME to version 16.1.30.2307. Please note after you update this BIOS, the ME version remains the updated one even if you roll back to an older BIOS later.

Before running the USB BIOS Flashback tool, please rename the BIOS file (PAZ690CW.CAP) using BIOSRenamer."

Someone has tested ..... and now seems to have released the bifurcation....

IOReg shows that the following USB ports are enabled:
  • USB 2.x
    • HS01, HS02, HS03, HS04, HS05, HS06, HS07, HS08, HS09, HS12, HS13
  • USB 3.x
    • SS01, SS02, SS03, SS04
This means that only these 4 ports will support USB 3.x devices:

...
4. Add PCIe Bifurcation options for GPU with M.2 storage
...
Does anyone know what specifically this means?
