<< Solved >> The machine keeps restarting indefinitely

Thank you very much for the detailed information. It has been decisive in solving the problem. I looked at the test LEDs, as you suggested, and the CPU LED remained on. The boot sequence stopped there. I went to see what was happening with the CPU and, well, this is hard to say, the specific...

    Recommendation for purchasing a motherboard

I thank you very much for all the information. The main problem I see now is that in the following years macOS support for Intel will decrease. This is something I didn't see clearly until now. I thought I had a few years of use left, but WiFi support is already disappearing. We'll see what...

    Recommendation for purchasing a motherboard

Thank you for the info. I'm considering purchasing an Apple macStudio, as you suggested. And maybe, more calmly, I will find a second-hand motherboard, as Edhawk suggested, to resurrect the one I have now. I'm very sad because I'm now seeing the end of Hackintosh.

    Recommendation for purchasing a motherboard

Good point, thank you. So, modern chipsets are incompatible with my 9th generation i7 and my DDR4 RAM, right?

    Recommendation for purchasing a motherboard

After a malfunction of my motherboard (Designare z390) I have to buy a new one. I would like to buy a more updated one (up to €250). I would like to ask for recommendations. I have seen this Black Friday offer on Amazon (Spain) for €224 that seems interesting. It's a good option? I have doubts...

<< Solved >> The machine keeps restarting indefinitely

After exchanging some components (graphics card and ram) with another computer, the problem persists. So I rule out that it is an error in these components. Regarding the motherboard, during the tests, it worked again once, displaying a message on the screen saying that the BIOS had been reset...

<< Solved >> The machine keeps restarting indefinitely

After an attempt to update the OS, this is happening to me. I turn on the computer and it keeps restarting indefinitely. To simplify debugging I have disassembled all the accessories (SATA disks, Broadcom card, cooler, etc.). Only the ram and the graphics card remain mounted. That is, I never...

After updating to Sonoma the progress bar gets stuck on reboot.

Hello, I have tried updating to Sonoma from Ventura using the system preferences updater. When restarting, the progress bar with the apple logo stops at approx. 55%. I have a Ventura USB installer. I could reinstall Ventura and restore the Time machine backup, but this would prevent me from...

<< Solved >> Multiboot Linux Mint + macOS ventura

I have macOS Ventura installed on one drive and I have installed Linux Mint from a USB installer on a second drive. At the end of the Linux installation, the computer only restarts with Linux, not with macOS. I have checked the EFI folder and I have verified that the Linux installer has...

<< Solved >> Cannot unmount volume

I rebooted the computer from a USB installer and used the USB disk utility. It has worked! It took a very long time to format the drive but it finally did. Thank you very much for the help.

<< Solved >> Cannot unmount volume

Hello. I recently installed a new macOS 13.5.1. I did it on a different disk than the old operating system. This way I had the opportunity to restart with one system or another. After a few months of operation without problems, I am going to delete the old operating system. For that, I want to...

Screen background color is not persistent

All right! I did it. The example in the OpenCore docs has the same configuration than my motherboard, so it was easy: Same codec (ALC1220) And the audio controller is located at the same PCI map place: I've notice that I already had an entry for this location in my config.plist: This...

Screen background color is not persistent

It seems that it fixed itself. I've been reading the opencore audio section and doing some checking. The alc id was 11 in both EFI (old and new). I found nothing. On one of the reboots the audio seemed to be set up fine again. :)

Screen background color is not persistent

Yes, of course it helps! I really have no words of thanks for all the help you are giving me. Thank you very much for all the attention you have put into ordering the EFI. I feel like it was completely chaotic. Although I'm sure everything works better now, the screen background color issue...

Screen background color is not persistent

Su I spent some time making tests. First, I add ClearNvram to config.plist: When I open config.plist with opencore configurator I get this warning. Could be a related issue? Then I Clear NVRAM several times. One time it worked, but the next times it didn't. I mean, I was able to change...

Screen background color is not persistent

Thank you for de detailed explanation. This is strange, the tools still not shown when the spacebar is pressed (only the list I mentioned in previous post). I'm in OpenCore 0.9.2: REL-092-2023-04-23 Of the tools and drivers you mentioned, (ResetNvramEntry.efi, ClearNvram.efi and...
