Yes. In System Preferences/Sound/Output, select a digital output or input device and the message "The selected device has no output controls" with the grayed out volume control.

Does your Blu-Ray player have a volume control?

My Blu-Ray player is PlayStation 3 and I can't remember any volume controls there ;)

I clearly understand your explanation and agree with it. :) But... maybe I'm wrong but I remember that I was able to manage volume of HDMI output under Linux... Can't check it right now.

Anyway: thank you for your great help, I'm very happy with my fully functional CustoMac, you rock! :clap: :thumbup:
 
I have just tried it under Windows 7 and yes, I was able to change volume of HDMI sound output!
