Guys, the BIG turn off to buying a Mac Mini is the soldered on components ( RAM and SDD )
Especially if you have a failure in one of these components you have NO way to recover your data.
You have to throw away the entire Mac mini.
The only way to buy a Mac with replaceable components is to buy the $7000 Mac Pro.

Is there a Mini PC that is recommended as an alternative to the Mac Mini ?
It use to be the Intel NUC but there are so many Mini PC on market today.

What do you think ?

If I were to buy a mini PC today, I would go for a 7840HS or 7940HS based system. Zen 4 has meaningful IPC improvements over older generations and the RDNA 3 IGPU is amazing.

That being said, RAM and SSD are pretty reliable and should outlast the useful life of a computer. Regardless of which computer you get, making backups of your primary drive is a good idea. If/when SSDs fail, you do your recovery from backups, not the failed SSD.

Yeah, Because the entire thing is soldered together if you have a damage or failure anywhere on the PCB or with components you have to throw it away any there is NO way to recover your data which is the most important thing on your Mac mini.

Thats why allot of these NEW computers and laptops are a BIG Danger.
What if your computer gets Hacked and they somehow lock you out or corrupt the SSD.
There is no way to remove your SSD to replace it or recover your Data.

Steve Jobs said “Build the Best Computer and Don’t settle for anything less”
He also said “Apple is a platform to bring together People to Help solve World Problems”
Well this is a PROBLEM.

Steve also said “Apple does NOT Ship JUNK”

How often have you had RAM or an SSD die on you? I know it can happen... I mean, anything can happen, right? But these failures are not very common. Why do you think most RAM come with lifetime warranties?

Think about smartphones. They have RAM and storage soldered on them too. How often do the RAM and storage go bad on them? Hundreds of millions of smartphones have been sold and RAM/storage failure has not been widespread even on the cheapest models. What makes you think it will be a major problem on a Mac? Have soldered RAM and storage stopped you from buying a smartphone? Are you not afraid of the "dangers"?

What part of a Mac is junk? Do they use inferior components?
