Hello:
I know this isn't a big problem per se, but now I've got everything working well on the hackintosh (thanks to this great site), I'm wondering about the CPU fan spinup that I found odd from the very beginning.
Like the title says, the fan would spin up at boot and wake from sleep to full speed, and then spin down to a normal and controlled speed that's quieter. I know this is probably BIOS related, and have searched for a way to keep it from spinning up at boot/wake since the noise is pretty loud, and that can't be good for the fan's lifespan?
It's probably just an anal-retentive detail, but since I haven't found any description of this issue on google, I wonder if this is even normal? Does anyone else have this, and is there any way to change its behavior? I'm using BIOS version F9 if that matters.
Thanks in advance.
