I am going to buy a monitor that has near Adobe RGB colour space as possible and was thinking of upgrading to a better video card if it is required to hit the correct output. So if anyone has any recommendations for both screen and card or would my AMD 5000 series be ok? I would prefer to stick with a card that does not require extra drivers if possible. I was thinking £6/700 for the screen and less than £200 for the card though could go up a bit more for the screen if it offers a gain in quality. I do not use anything more powerful than Photoshop and am not bothered about 4k just colour accuracy.

The machine is per sig but with 32gig of ram an SSD for scratch/lightroom libraries.

Thanks.

Here's one that I would strongly consider if I needed 99% RGB:

https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/PA249Q/

For a graphics card I'd do some research on that.
Likely need to go with a compatible Nvidia Quadro K4000 to
get the most accurate color from a 99% RGB monitor. You
would require drivers from Nvidia though.

I am looking into that one and the Dell 27" but then in my search I came across this beauty http://www.nec-display-solutions.com/p/uk/en/products/details/videos/rp/EA244UHD.xhtml and its about £800 I am very tempted by it all the NEC screens I have had the pleasure of using have been superb. Im going to have to do a lot of reading round all this to make sure I get the right card for the job.

I have been looking at the Dell U2713H to use as an external monitor for my iMac (dying display).

Dell have just released three new RGB monitors. I'm hoping the UP2716D is a worthwhile upgrade (main issue with U2713 seems to be screen uniformity) without a huge price hike.

TRS96 is correct, you'll need a compatible card to get 10-bit color to your monitor, something like a k4000 like they mentioned.

I just bought a LG 31um97 4K 99% aRGB. Arrives soon, hoping for the best.

Although I only have a GTX 780, so I won't be getting 10-bit until I upgrade.

Having read around this and considering I create fantasy worlds (children's books) it will be considerable expense and hassle to gain something not really vital to the out put. I will go for good 4k display and reasonable GPU for the purpose and revise this in couple of years. Thanks all for input.
