Hello,

This is my first contribution to the group and I hope you like it.

What can you do with a broken Apple II floppy drive and a Mac Mini M1?

Once the box is emptied and the measures are taken, start cutting the window for the connectors and fan, power outlet and power button.

Then work with 1 and 3 mm plastic plates to copy the original back cover of the Mac Mini where the motherboard is fitted.

The motherboard is embedded in the part of the ports and screwed back in two points; as it is elevated because in the base is the power supply, I install two supports at the right height and of questionable elegance.

Next, I install the power button, which must be adjusted with total precision so that it appears just right and clicks appropriately.

It's time to work with the antennas.
The whole box is metal with what I have assured its RF tightness, but the front is made of plastic, so I install a metal plate that acts as a shield. That will also be the support of the antennas.
Once disassembled, I stick them on the outside and connect the cables; they are short, so I go crazy looking for a male-bean extension cable on AliExpress until I find the right ones with the right connector.

And it's all set up. Easy, isn't it?

Nice build.

To make that possible, you would have to make a sandwich with the motherboard down, the DVD in the middle and the power supply on top.

I have not taken measures to see if that would be possible, but even if it is so, how useful is a DVD in 3023? I haven't used the one I have on the table for years...

For the moment I'll leave it like this, I'm in the middle of another build, that if, it suits me, it will be really retro-surprising
