Quick and easy minor update from MacOS Sonoma 14.3 to 14.3.1 Using the small incremental software update.
The update took around 20 mins to install with the usual three reboots.
Booting via OpenCore 0.9.8 with the latest Kexts.

Updated Sonoma 14.3 to 14.3.1 using OpenCore 0.9.5. No issues, no need to update any kexts or the boot loader.Screenshot 2024-02-09 at 20.18.51.png AMD ROG STRIX X570-F Gaming / Ryzen 9 3900X / RX 6700 XT

A bit of work:

- I had to download the full installer from Ventura as the AppStore said that my machine didn’t supported the update. Probably because of the WiFi root patches from OCLP;

- Reverted the root patches and unchecked all WiFi/BT kexts in my EFI;

- Update was long because it was like a full install on top of 14.3;

- Reapplied the OCLP WiFi root patches… and it works!

Now, iPhoto is dead since Sonoma. Working fine in Ventura with Retroactive, unfortunately abandoned project as it seems… Yes, I still have two machine with an iPhoto library :).

Yesterday, with 14.3 (I made a Sonoma test drive yesterday just before 14.3.1 appeared :)), I had to uninstall iTunes and iMovie, weird. iTunes now still works with the help of Retroactive and after uninstalling/reinstalling iMovie, it’s fine too!

**Edit: I should precise that it’s for the Dell XPS 8930 in my signature!
***Also, my RX 580 draw a lot more power under Sonoma: 90w idle vs 30-40 in Ventura. No, Orinoco FB injection is broken since Ventura before someone suggests it!

All good here on the 5700U.
