I've searched, read and thought about building a Hackintosh for my recording studio. I want stability, speed and that the sound of the computer isn't to loud. Doesn't have to be super quite. I don't think I will overclock.
What about these specs:

OS OSX 10.6.8 or if stable 10.7.4
Motherboard Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 Rev 1.3
Processor Intel Core i7 2600K 3,4GHz
Case Fractal Design Define R3
RAM Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz (CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10) (2x8GB)
PSU Cooler Master PowerSupply (PSU) Silent Pro M700 700W
CPU cooler (maybe I don't need this one?) Corsair Hydro H40 CPU Kylare - Socket 775 / 1156 / 1155 / 1366 / AM3 / FM1
OS HDD1 Crucial m4 2.5" 128GB
Audio files HDD2 Don't know, something cheap but quite fast. 500GB is enough.

What should I think of?!?

700W for this system.

Actually it's a kind of HTPC. The Corsair CX430 V2 should be enough for everything for this system.

Yeah, since you are looking to use HD3000 700W is way too much. 430 is sufficient as Mate94 stated.

You can purchase the Hyper212+ air cooler and Seagate Barracudas or WD Black.

Why you call it a HTPC? Isn't this a powerful computer?

Thank you for clearing out the PSU question.

I'm using 10.8 with 2.67 Ghz i5 8Gbd GB 1333 Mhz DDR3 Gigabyte P55M-UD2 and I was running 17 tracks last night without a hiccup.

As far as a PSU I would not skimp on power. Doing music on your computer can be be very demanding. I had a 550 W fail on me and replaced it with a Rosewill 630 which received the golden award by Hardware Secrets. It's a bit noisy but works great.

I'm running Snow Leopard 10.68 on 250 GB HD and for my music files 650 GB,750GB and 1 TB.
I back up everything. Works like a champ! Your system sounds great!

I just built nearly the same that you spec'd just last month - same mobo (kingston ram) but I used a 9600GT for vid - you may want to consider using other than onboard vid for your rig considering the application.

and yeah tracked 15min of 12 tracks of drums in logic pro 8 (still using 10.6.8) no problems - was remote into my hack from a G4 with chicken of the vnc -

but I will say that after having a G5 for 7 yrs in my studio - if I could have afforded it I would have def. got another apple

as far as overclocking I was actually thinking about underclocking as it takes 64 instances of my PSP plugins to max the CPU (i5 2500k)

FWW: what I did when I installed -
installed osx using iboot (had 10.6.3 retail disk - get a real copy!)
once the welcome screen came on I hard booted down the machine and made an image of the HDD before I screwed it up (used another mac using disk utility - do you research of what the proper way to image a drive is)
put the HDD back in and took my chances - -when I would mess it up I would just re-image it (actually I used 2 HDD's - swapping and re-imaging as I needed to)

Thank you for your tips. I'll get a PSU around 650 och maybe 700 just to be safe.

You think there will be problems with the HD3000 if I use two screens extended desktop 1280x800 ?
