Have someone tried another chipset motherboard than Z170? I want to build a Hackintosh with a Gigabyte B150

Have somebody tested a Pcie firewire card on the Z170? I'm building my first Hackintosh and i need to know how it goes. :geek:

I'll be attempting to use my native firewire -the StarTech.com 3 Port 2b 1a Low Profile 1394 PCI Express FireWire Card Adapter shortly so ill confirm if it works over the next few days.

Hi!

Today I bought new board and components for skylake.

The board is gigabyte z170 gaming 7 but I think it is not much different from yours :))

Can you give me quick install guide for this?

It is much different or the same? comparing to regular (LGA 1150 or 1155) installation?

I know there is new patches for USB and Ethernet port.

I bought Radeon Video card.

Sorry my question is so broad:)) and vague..and poor English..

I have the Gaming G1 / i7 6700k / gtx980ti

I am trying to install OSX 10.11.1
- I succeed in booting with Skylake fix from Pike R Alpha
- I built Meinze's Atheros2200 (the last one with e2400 support) with Xcode with El Captain SDK. but it's not working (no ethernet)
- I installed NVidia's driver and booted with nvda_drv = 1. Didn't work and tried with the fix at policies in Apple.Graphics.Policy.kext, and didn't work either.

I will try to do a clean install again, I may have messed up with some kexts.

Dook0, everything should work bar the Intel chipset stuff with the Gaming G1. We're just gonna have to wait for a few fixes with El Capitan - maybe Q1 2016 :)

Make sure your BIOS settings are flashed to fw 6g, Disable IOAPIC Entry in BIOS, Enable XHCI Handoff.

To install USB El Cap boot use the non 'D' labelled USB ports (Intels!) on the back connector i.e. the top two ports below the PS2 keyboard connector or the white USB port in the middle or if you've attached the frontside USB3/2s to the motherboard then you should be able to use either of the left two ports.

Make sure you are using Mac ID 3,1 to install El Cap with Clover, once in, copy over the config.plist and basic kexts to boot to your install drive (e.g. fakesmc...), don't forget to use either Multicast or Cloverinstaller pkg to get clover boot loader onto your eventual boot drive

Post install: fix up your config.plist in your EFI mounted drive (d/l and use 'Clover Configurator') and ID it to 17,1 iMac 5K Retina. See pics.

Ensure you use the latest Meinze's Atheros2200 kext https://github.com/Mieze/AtherosE2200Ethernet/blob/master/README.md which includes full support for the Killer 2400 NICs and you can safely drop it in S/L/E with Kext Wizard/Utility or drop it in your EFI kexts folder.
Use AHCIportinjector kext and you can use Z170X-Gaming-7-USB3.0-Injection kext too for now inside your 10.11 EFI Kexts folder. *Im building a new injector for the G1 but its practically the same.

Theres a few posts around the internet regarding getting the Creative Audio working but only stereo fronts and sides work at the moment. I don't use it as Im using Firewire PCI Express card.

I also use a PCI Express inateck KTU3FR-502U card for more USB 3 ports (until the Intel 100 chipset gets supported)

Currently playing with a m.2 NVME SSD on Windows trying to format it. If you can boot to windows on a separate drive I recommend taking a look at a lot of Gigabytes utilities which you can program extra stuff into BIOS... could be useful!

NOTE: On first boot after install with nvidia GFX you should use nv_disable=1, get into El Cap, then download Nvidia web drivers, change your config plist back to nvda_drive=1 save it and reboot back in with full GFX support (download CUDA drivers too). You may still need to AVOID BLACK SCREEN BOOT PROBLEMS and Pikey quotes doing the following;-

backup then change AppleGraphicsControl.kext values;-

Found in:
/S*/L*/E*/AppleGraphicsControl.kext/C*/P*/AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext/C*/Info.plist

go down to configmap section and change value to None:

<key>ConfigMap</key>
<dict>
<key>Mac-F60DEB81FF30ACF6</key>
<string>none</string>
</dict>

Viola!

I'll build a guide once Ive finished doing mine... still experimenting.

I can proudly say that I could install El Capitan on my new system, Z170X Gaming 5, i7 6700K, GTX780 TI G1 Gaming. Everything works good except sound. I didn't have time to fiddle with that just yet, since I already use USB headphones.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to making this possible.
