UtterDisbelief Goes Small - NUC10 i5 UHD630 32GB

Hi. Thank you for this great work. I've installed Big Sur with the EFI folder included in EFI-NUC-TBFix.zip on my NUC10i7fnhn and everything seems to work flawlessly, except one thing: it can sleep and wake ok only once, the second time it freezes when I try to wake. I also tried installing Monterey using the EFI folder on EFI-NUC10-Monterey.zip and same thing. Am I missing something? Any idea of what can be causing the problem? The BIOS version on my NUC is 0062. I can not find a solution. All the rest works great!

This is awesome, thanks so much for this!

I installed Monterey and then went to Ventura and, since I had a clean install, figured I would try Sonoma… and bingo! Works great. Haven’t double checked all the ports, just the ones I use the most.

Fwiw much less grief than my NUC9… that one is a problem child which works great when it works, but there’s a little teeth gritting every update or even reboot.

Glad the EFIs were useful.

For the sleep/wake problem double-check your BIOS S4/S5 settings, perhaps.

I haven't experienced this issue.

:)

UtterDisbelief --> Are you install Sonoma on your NUC?

No, not yet.

The latest stable build is Monterey, although I did create a Ventura version. The reason I stayed with Monterey is to keep security updates coming (Apple supports the last three macOS versions) but also support some older software I have.

If you wish to upgrade to Sonoma remember you will need the latest alpha versions of AirportItlwm etc. AND modify the Bluetooth kexts.

:)

alpha versions of AirportItlwm-----> yes i use it
modify the Bluetooth kexts ---> how is do this, can you help me?

I have explained all in your other post on the memory thread.

@UtterDisbelief ; please, can you do favor to me, can you start system with system report in mics-->debug and see what error it will give you. Because, I used your EFI, and I got same errors that I already had with my EFI.

Hi there.

Sorry to be so late in replying.

At the moment I am running a new hacktintosh - the Gigabyte B760 - which I have been concentrating on. So my NUC is back in it's storage box for the time being.

I didn't have the problems you are experiencing. Everything worked well, including the power-management for wake and sleep. This needs the specific BIOS settings I explain in the build to work properly. I did a lot of rigorous testing before I uploaded the EFI and did not have any wake-failure errors.

Mind you, I did not try to change the CPU power settings for more speed, but just left the defaults in place.

Sorry I am unable to go further at this time. :)

Yep... just done one of these straight to "Monterey" using the updated EFI supplied here.

Sound works straight to HDMI, wifi & BLE work.

Sadly the GPU would not pull you out of the bed in the morning, 7D2D is a bust...
but as a replacement for a Mac Mini 2012 it's fine.

Well this is new...
As soon as I removed the USB I use to configure it, it wont boot to the internal SSD.

I put the USB stick back in and it works..., it looks like something funky with the boot loader , needing to be on the USB to kick start the loading from the SSD.
