I got a Ryzen 5 4600G.. and a 4700G.

I just couldn't resist!, being a big fan of Ryzen 7s, I own a 1700, a 5700X and now a 4700G!. The most important part of course is the Radeon Graphics, 8 Core Vega GPU beating at 2.1 GHz, equivalent to an RX 550.

So you now have both the 4600G and 4700G?

That is correct, nuts right?.
Well, I won't say that, but normally it will be unnecessary. The 4700G is 8 core while the 4600G is 6 core, right?

Does the 4700G work as well? It seems to have a different iGPU compared to the 4600G.

I don't think the 4700G is available as a retail CPU. How did you get it?

Apparently the integrated graphics in the newer 5600G is more or less the same as the 4600G. If the 4600G can be made to mostly work, perhaps the 5600G can also work?

Good questions. The 4700G is an 8 core 16 thread APU and the 4600G is 6 core and 12 thread APU. The iGPU is the same Renoir Vega graphics in both APUs, the difference being the 4600G has 7 radeon cores beating at 1.9 MHz and the 4700G has 8 Radeon cores beating at 2.1 MHz. One review I read compared the Radeon Graphics on the 4700G to an RX 580 or a non-existant 1060 Ti, tech sites have compared it to an RX 550, either way everyone agrees it's really good. I found it on eBay for a good price and it was the last one so I snapped it up immediately. Nootinc say that Ryzen 5000 G series APUs should work but I haven't seen any successes. I know someones struggling with a 5600G but that's all I've seen in regards to that.

Yes, 5600g work fine with nootedred when VDA decoder is disabled (nred default)), if AppleGVA is enabled by boot arg -nredvcn, some 3rd apps like IINA, VLC, h264 and 8 bit HEVC video playback may be failed to initiate video surface (10 bit HEVC video playback is OK), others seems to be OK.

Thanks for confirming this. So we have confirmation on 4600G and 5600G, that’s good news!.

@shuhung I noticed you're using SMBIOS iMac18,1 which isn't actually listed by Nootinc as a choice. What's you experience with 18,1, how does it compare to other SMBIOS?.

@Middleman can confirm that his R1606G with Radeon Vega GFx is also compatible, it's also embedded which is very interesting and I'm sure Nootinc would be interested in this too.
