Hi, I just read here:

So as I understand, I should make OpenCore bootloader. When I go to the instructions for SkyLake I see

Desktop Skylake

Support Version
Initial macOS Support OS X 10.11, El Capitan

Does the Version El Capitan mean something here? Or is it irrelevant?

Just want to make sure I perform this upgrade precisely. And want to make sure that the upgrade preserves the full functionality of my rx480 card. As I recall there was quite a bit involved in optimizing that card, making sure all cores were enabled, etc.

thanks

Irrelevant :)

the initial support is for El Capitan, anything prior then it is not supported

using Monterey will be fine

also you could spoof your system as kabylake and upgrade to Ventura if you wanted to
