    Dual Xeon Motherboard Recommendations 01.2015

The Supermicro DAX motherboards are the ones that are overclockable to the safe maximum limit (x1.0755% in the case of the Sandy/Ivy bridge DAX motherboards and x1.05% for the Haswell DAX motherboard) for post-Westmere Xeons. Other post-Westmere Supermicro motherboards can't be over-clocked...

    32 Core Hackintosh?

I have not tried OSX 10.10 yet. Mavericks recognizes the full 128Gs that I've installed. Not sure whether any greater amount of ram would work.

    32 Core Hackintosh?

Nope. Moreover, that wouldn't have yielded a better Hackintosh score because there's a thread cap in OS X. My CPUs are quad E5-4650 V1s, stepping C1 (clocked exactly like E5-2680 V1s {2.7 GHz base and 3.5 GHz max turbo} and clocked a little higher than the fastest E7-4800 V2, including the >$6K...

Macs are now more than ever PCs. Apple has gone the extra mile to ensure that you can run Mac OSX and Windows on the same machine, i.e., they've gone a long way toward choosing hardware that works in both environments. To build a Hack is to first build a PC. To build the fastest Hack, build...

    128GB RAM and 16 cores / 32 threads X9DAI

Justruss, I don't believe that the motherboard he's using allows for any overclocking. However, even if it did, the current E5s are locked down in every way possible, unlike the Nehalems and Westmeres. The best that you can do, even if the motherboard supports overclocking, is to push the BCLK...
