The Demise of the iPhone Headphone Jack Hasn't Been Greatly Exaggerated !

I would love to see an apple made wireless device akin to something like https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N7AWL2U/?tag=tonymacx86com-20 which uses their nice fancy W1 chip and I can plug my headphones into. Knowing them the thing would have 3 days of battery life (until updates started happening and the life would deteriorate quickly..)

They removed it for a few reasons:

1. There's always money, more devices to sell, more adapters, more this more that. Less components to buy (DAC, port, etc)
2. Space. They have used the interior space that this connector freed up physically and on the board meant they could do other things like better haptic feedback and more battery (which the world _clamors_ for every release)
3. Water protection It was much easier to seal the phone off without that adapter there (other phones have done it, like Sony, not sure why they couldn't do it too)
