hi, I have a configuration of years ago and that I no longer use but that I would like to restore... I searched for some information online but couldn't find anything, so I ask you:
the configuration is this:
intel i5 7400 3.00ghz
msi gtx 1050 ti 4gb
now there is a dual boot with windows 10 and high sierra
Do you think I could install something more recent on it? Thank you

Your GTX 1050 is not supported beyond High Sierra but you could use your processor's integrated HD Graphics 630 and go further.

I have a build with an i5 7600 running Sonoma on HD Graphics 630.

great, it works well? is there the possibility to only disable the gtx 1050 ti with a prompt or i have to disintall from the build?

is there a guide for my processor? I tried but I can't get mac os sonoma to boot... I'm definitely wrong in some bootloader configuration

you will have to spoof a CoffeeLake CPU if you really need to install Sonoma
I don't know where this idea comes from but in my experience it's a myth.
I have three Kaby Lake builds running Sonoma without any spoofing at all.

Hmmm. I don't think it is a myth.

2019 iMacs - the earliest which support Sonoma are Coffee Lake.

The 2017 models - Kaby Lake - end support officially at Ventura.

Mac Mini 8,1 is Coffee Lake.

iMac Pro 2017 is an exception, but MacPro is not.

So I reckon it's official and logical Kaby Lake was dropped. A natural assumption.

BUT as it clearly works for you, that is useful to know.
