Hello again!

Quick question about purchasing a new Wi-Fi card. Right now I have an Intel DualBand AC-7265 but it is a m.2 port and does not look like the BCM94352Z.

This is what I have (Please note, this card also covers bluetooth I believe):

I am looking for a suitable replacement for this that would work in Yosemite and El Capitan. Someone mentioned this card:

Would that work? I don't think this laptop (still the Gen 3 X1 Carbon) has a whitelist. Can anyone confirm that this card also provides bluetooth?

Thanks,
JC

WiFi details in FAQ.

Everything in that thread and beyond looks like that it could work.

My only real worry is a possible BIOS whitelist. Has anyone tried this with the X1 or is this just a leap of faith?

I wrote that guide. This is a fact finding post to update that XD

Purchase WiFi card. Install it... discover if you have a whitelist.

Done deal. I guess I will continue guinea pigging. I will report back once I try the one mentioned in the OP.

Assuming BIOS accepts the card, use the procedures documented in the FAQ for BCM94352.

There is also a Lenovo branded BCM94352Z. The info I have on it: Lenovo FRU 04X6020, Lenovo PN: 20-200480.

Following up.

Talked to Dell Accessory & Part Sales through a web chat and asked if they had any items in stock with the part number of 6XYRC. (It is their DW1560 chip.) right before you recommended the Lenovo alternative.

The Dell card arrived today, I installed it along with the mods/fixes from your linked FAQ post and OSX wifi is working wonderfully! -- Windows 10 wifi is no longer working though, bluetooth is fine, drivers installed fine but it cannot find any access points. (I am trying a fresh install of that now to see if it is a configuration issue from the previously installed Intel 7265)

Thanks for the help. It looks like this laptop does not have a whitelist or these cards are supported at the very least.

PS: Ordering from Dell cost me $18 for the part and $6 for shipping. They have plenty in stock!!!! Don't spend $60-$80 on the Ebay cards, they are the same thing!

Alright I'm stumped.

Wireless and Bluetooth works beautifully in OSX. In Windows I can get several different driver versions installed from Dell, HP, Lenovo, and whatever is distributed with Windows. Bluetooth works but it never scans for networks and cannot display any SSIDs.

Any ideas?
